Come Join Our Program!
At Rose Bowl Water Polo, our goal is to provide a competitive, all inclusive, fun water polo development environment to student-athletes in our surrounding community.

We started out with a handful of young, enthusiastic players practicing every night at the South Pasadena High School pool.
Over time, we began to be known as a powerhouse and younger players began to come on board. We eventually outgrew the location and one September day back in 1998, we found our new home at the AAF Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.

U18 Boys and Girls | Born 1991 & 1990
Boys Rep: Lisa Colvin | Girls Rep: Adam Roth

If you've got it, you know it. By now, you know you're good!
This is our top level of play. By now, players have competed fiercely and have been recruited to play college ball. They will finish their career with us playing in the Junior Olympics.. We work on aggressiveness, tough physical play and honing their skills for the future. Players then come back every holiday season to play in our annual alumni game.

U16 Boys and Girls | Born 1993 & 1992
Boys Rep: Lisa Colvin | Girls Rep: Adam Roth

High School Varsity as Freshmen!
Our players enter high school and often start as freshmen for their varsity team. They have the knowledge, ability and experience to perform in the game at the high school level. The years of practice pay off. They excel. In the summer we compete in Junior Olympics and place top 10 consistently. At this age, we focus on shooting, ball handling skills, defensive/ offensive strategies and make sure to get in plenty of scrimmages, fighting hard to win CCA

U14 Boys and Girls | Born 1995 & 1994
Rep: Vicky Rogers
Growth, Commitment and a Passion for the Sport!
At this age, our players love this game! They put in the extra time for "Swim Conditioning"; their shooting has gotten stronger and more accurate; they're building muscle and growing physically. We focus on team and skill building, competing year-round alongside the older teams in tournaments including the Speedo Cup and California Cup.
U12 Boys and Girls | Born 1997 & 1996
Rep: Jeanne Boukidis
They've Got the Bug!
This is the age that we begin to see real talent develop. Players that began competing for us at the U10 age group gain confidence in their knowledge of the game and their physical ability. Believe us, they put it to good use in tournaments like the San Diego County Cup and multiple scrimmages with local teams.
U10 Boys and Girls | Born 1998 and Later
Rep: Dianne McGee

Water Polo is Fun!
Start 'em out young! Players that begin working out early with us develop a tremendous amount of ability and a natural sense for the game. It's a great workout with emphases on swimming ability and learning the rules of the game. We accept kids as young as 8 years old.

California Coastal Zone Team and National Development Team

Every year our CCA Zone selects a team (usually 14 players) from each age group (boys and girls) to try out for the USA National Water Polo team. Players are selected based on their: swim speed, endurance, physical size and water polo abilities. The physical testing during the try out process is extensive. Swimming sets for time on short rest intervals is a critical component. Most players that make the team have years of swim team experience - left handed players are also in high demand. It is a long, exhausting process, but is a great experience for players to compare themselves with the best players in the Zone.

If a player makes it through the entire selection process they will have the opportunity to play for our National team in tournaments both in the US and in eastern Europe.

Please contact Coach Leyson with any questions about the tryout process.
